This is the itinerary we followed for our first day in Rome. We didn’t have a lot of time so I kept it simple, giving us plenty of free time and eliminating having to run from place to place.
Land in Rome around 9:45
Private Transfer to Hotel Borgognoni
Lunch at 3 spots right next to hotel. Panini De Santis, Origano Cucina Pizza Caffe, or Pizzeria Ciro. All have sandwiches, salads. Also Deli L’Antico Forno by Trevi Fountain
2:30 Head to Roman Colosseum for 3:00 meeting time for 3:15 tour. Tour lasts 3 hours
~6:15 Head back towards Hotel (which is right between Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps). Walk toward Trevi fountain ~5 minutes
7:30 Dinner at La Fontana Di Venere
After dinner, head to Spanish Steps for dessert
