Note: Instead of making the cream cheese mixture. Buy a tub of Port Wine Cheese for a stronger cheese ball.

Ingredients

12 oz cream cheese

1 cup shredded cheddar

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp paprika

Salt and pepper

8 slices of bacon

1/3 cup chopped chives

1/3 cup finely chopped pecans

18 pretzel sticks

Method

In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Drain well and dice.

In a large bowl combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and paprika. Season with salt and pepper and combine well.

Roll cheese mixture into 18 balls, set on a pan lined with parchment paper or wax paper and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Combine bacon, chives, and pecans on a large plate.

Roll each ball in the pecan mixture until coated all over.

Insert a pretzel stick into each cheese ball.

Let rest at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving, or refrigerate, loosely covered with plastic wrap.
