This Creamy Jalapeño Dip is a truly addictive and versatile dip that’s become a favorite for its vibrant flavor and smooth texture. It’s a popular choice for game days, parties, or simply as a delicious accompaniment to meals.
The dip typically starts with a creamy base of mayonnaise, sour cream, and sometimes buttermilk or cream cheese, providing a rich and tangy foundation. The star ingredient is the jalapeño pepper, which can be fresh for a brighter, bolder heat or pickled for a slightly milder and tangier profile.
What makes this dip so irresistible is its smooth and creamy texture, often achieved by blending all the ingredients together in a food processor until completely puréed. It’s known for having a kick, but the level of spiciness can be customized by controlling the amount of jalapeños and whether the seeds and membranes are included. For a milder dip, remove the seeds and membranes; for a spicier dip, leave them in.
